Turkish authorities deport 112 Syrians, 12 Iraqis to northern Syria

RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – As part of an ongoing deportation campaign against Turkey-based Syrian refugees, Turkish authorities deported on Thursday 112 Syrian refugees, including women and children, and 12 Iraqis to northern Syria through the Tel Abayd border crossing.

Last week, administrative sources at four border crossings in northern Syria revealed that the Turkish authorities forcibly deported more than 13,000 Syrian refugees to Syria during September alone.

An administrative source at the Tel Abyad crossing told North Press that Turkish authorities deported this morning 112 Syrian and 12 Iraqi refugees and handed them over the SNA’s Military Police at the crossing.

The source added that the Military Police transferred the deportees to shelters, where they will be kept until the security investigation against them is completed.

All identification documents of the deportees were seized and their fingerprints and biometric date were taken by the Turkish authorities to prevent them from returning.

On October 8, Turkish authorities deported 350 Syrian refugees to Idlib, northwestern Syria, via the Bab al-Hawa border crossing.

In addition, sources at the Bab al-Salam, Bab al-Hawa and Tel Abyad crossings said that the number of deportees has reached about 5,000 people since the beginning of this month.
