Turkish border guards arrest, injure Syrian asylum seekers
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Turkish border guards injured and arrested, on Wednesday, several Syrians attempting to cross the border into Turkey from Idlib countryside, northwest Syria.
“The border guards attacked a group of Syrian civilians while attempted to cross the border with Turkey from the village of Kherbet al-Jouz, western Idlib, resulting in the injury of a woman and her son, and the arrest of eight individuals”, a security source in Idlib told a North Press.
The source added that the border guards had transferred the injured and the arrested asylum seekers to detention centers for investigation before handing them over to the Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA), at Bab al-Hawa border crossing, northern Idlib.
Medical sources informed North Press that since the beginning of October, 22 Syrians have been injured in Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain), north Syria, and Idlib countryside due to the Turkish attacks against those who attempt to cross the border illegally.
