ISIS claims responsibility for 2 operations in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – The Islamic State (ISIS) claimed, on Monday, its responsibility for two operations against the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor Governorate, eastern Syria.
ISIS militants targeted an investigator and a member of the Asayish in the village of Abriha, in al-Busayrah district, eastern Deir ez-Zor, the ISIS-run Amaq news agency said in a statement.
The targeting resulted in the killing of the Asayish investigator and member, according to the source.
In another statement, the Amaq news agency said that ISIS militants targeted a military vehicle belonging to the SDF with machineguns on the road between the villages of Hawi al-Hisan and Meheimideh, resulting in the injury of an SDF fighter who was inside the vehicle.
A military source from the Asayish confirmed that both incidents have occurred.
