Three SNA militants killed, 8 injured in Syria’s Sere Kaniye

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – Three members of factions of the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) were killed, and eight others were injured in clashes with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain), northeast Syria.

A physician at a hospital in Sere Kaniye city told North Press that emergency teams affiliated with SNA factions handed over the hospital staff three bodies and eight injured individuals, some of whom were in critical condition. The critically injured were sent to hospitals in Turkey.

He added that other injuries occurred among the SNA’s militants during clashes with the SDF on the front of Ain Issa town, north of Raqqa, northern Syria. The injured were transferred to a hospital in the city of Tel Abyad.

Since Thursday, Turkish drones have been carrying out intensive attacks targeting infrastructure in northeastern Syria, including gas, oil, electricity, and water facilities.

The strikes took place following a statement by Turkey’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hakan Fidan, in which he threatened to strike a broader range of targets in Syria and Iraq in retaliation for the Ankara suicide bombing attack on October 1.

The SDF said in a statement that Turkey is launching a large-scale attack on areas in northeastern Syria, exploiting Ankara operation as a pretext.

In a related context, Turkish forces have sent military reinforcements to their bases in the countryside of Sere Kaniye through their main crossing point in northern Hasakah.

An administrative official in the Turkish-backed Military Police, who oversees the Ras al-Ain border crossing, told North Press that the military reinforcements included eight armored vehicles carrying militants, in addition to two trucks loaded with ammunition and two tanks.
