
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Turkey targeted 131 sites in northeast and north Syria in the past 48 hours, most of which focused on infrastructure serving the region’s people.
The Monitoring and Documentation Department of North Press agency recorded the targeting of 131 sites in the following cities and their countryside: 21 sites in Qamishli, 26 in Hasakah, 27 in Aleppo northern countryside, nine in Derik, 25 in Ain Issa, 16 in Kobani, and seven in Manbij.
The attacks targeted 21 infrastructure sites. In Qamishli and its countryside, they hit Chel Agha dam, the Ouda oil field, oil wells in the village of Tel Khatoun, oil wells in Tirbe Spiyeh (al-Qahtaniya) town, the Tirbe Spiyeh power plant, oil tanks near the village of Gerdahol, al-Qaws oil installation, the Saida oil installation, the Zarabiyah oil facility, and the Qamishli city power plant.
As for Hasakah, they struck a power plant and a water conversion station. They also hit a power station in the town of Amuda, the Sweidiya gas plant near the city of Derik, an oil refinery near the Sweidiya facility, and the power station in the town of Ain Issa.
The recent Turkish attacks targeted crucial sites that supply fuel, electricity, and water to residents in the majority of areas in north and northeast Syria. As a result, these attacks have caused a near-total disruption of essential services, leaving the people severely affected and struggling to access basic necessities.
The number of strikes reached 180, including 117 artillery strikes, 17 airstrikes, and 45 drone strikes.
The attacks also hit 76 residential areas, 23 military sites – 13 of which belonged to Syrian government forces – six farmlands, three industrial plants, one school, and one hospital.
The casualties amounted to 25 people, with 17 losing their lives, including 10 civilians, while eight others, including five civilians – one of them is a child – were injured, according to the department.
They also targeted Covid Hospital in Derik city, the Khana Sere water station in Derik countryside, a school in Dada Abdal village and a construction plant in Hasakah countryside, an ice factory near Dimkhaya village in Qamishli countryside, the vicinity of the Washo Kani IDP camp, the water tank in Fatsa village and Qazali silos near Ain Issa, grain silos in Amuda, and a paint factory in Kobani.
Turkey continues to target infrastructure facilities in northeastern Syria, disregarding all international calls and ceasefire agreements it signed with the United States and Russia.
