SDF announces killing Turkish soldiers in Hasakah, Raqqa

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Friday that they had killed a number of Turkish soldiers in operations against Turkish bases in the countryside of Hasakah and Raqqa, in northeastern and northern Syria, respectively.

The SDF stated that they had carried out two military operations against Turkish bases, resulting in the killing of five Turkish soldiers north of Tel Tamr town in the northern countryside of Hasakah.

Since Thursday, the Turkish army have launched many drone strikes on infrastructure in several areas of north and northeast Syria, in the regions run by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES). The attacks have targeted gas, oil, power, and water installations. The strikes took place following a statement by Turkey’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hakan Fidan, in which he threatened to strike a broader range of targets in Syria and Iraq in retaliation for the Ankara attack on October 1.

The SDF said in their statement that they carried out operations against Turkish bases in south of the city of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain), northeastern Syria, and in north and west of the town of Ain Issa, northern Syria.

They further added that several Turkish soldiers were killed and injured.
