SDF dismisses allegations of Turkish officials

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) dismissed on Wednesday the allegations made by Turkish officials about the crossing of the perpetrators of Ankara attack through SDF-held areas.

The SDF Media Center said, in a statement, that all these allegations “are untrue repeated accusations, and come as a continuation of the cycle of false accusations that Turkey has always pursued.”

On Oct. 1, Turkey’s Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said that two “terrorists” carried out a bomb attack in front of the ministry buildings in Ankara.

Through these accusations, Turkey tries to “divert attention from its internal problems and crises and pave the way for the crimes of ethnic cleansing and genocide against our people,” according to the media center.

A few hours before, Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan claimed that the two assailants who carried out the attack had been trained in Syria, and threatened that his country had reserved the right to strike a broader range of Kurdish targets in Syria and Iraq in retaliation for the attack.

For his part, Commander in Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Mazloum Abdi firmly dismissed the claims of the Turkish officials.

In addition, the US Department of State raised concerns about threats made by the Turkish officials.
