Turkey claims Ankara attack assailants come from Syria

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Turkey claimed on Wednesday that the two assailants who carried out Ankara attack had been trained in Syria.

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said in televised comments “As a result of the work of our security forces, it has become clear that the two terrorists came from Syria and were trained there.”

On Oct. 1, Turkey’s Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said that two “terrorists” carried out a bomb attack in front of the ministry buildings in Ankara.

The Turkish minister also threatened that his country reserved the right to strike a broader range of Kurdish targets in Syria and Iraq in retaliation for the attack.

“From now on, all infrastructure, large facilities and energy facilities belonging to (armed Kurdish groups) in Iraq and Syria are legitimate targets for our security forces,” he added.
