Four Syrians injured in western Idlib by Turkish borders guards
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, Turkish borders guards shot at and injured four Syrians in western Idlib while they were attempting to illegally cross the border into Turkey with the intention of seeking refuge.
A source told North Press, “Turkish borders guards opened fire this evening on a group of individuals attempting to cross the border towards Turkey from the direction of the town of Salqin, west of Idlib.”
Such incidents take place regularly as Syrians continue to escape from the difficult living conditions. Different methods are employed by border guards, such as direct shooting, setting up border ambushes, and arresting individuals.
The source added that the shooting resulted in the injury of four individuals who were subsequently transported to local hospitals, adding that their condition is currently stable.
The source also said that the Turkish border guards directly fired at the Syrians without issuing any warning to turn back upon reaching the border wall. The injured remained in place until some locals come to their rescue.
