Three killed in intra-SNA clashes in Syria’s Sere Kaniye

SERE KANIYE, Syria (North Press) – Three fighters were killed on Friday among armed factions of the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) in clashes that broke out between the SNA’s Military Police and members of the al-Karaan-al-Uqaydat tribe, who are affiliated with the SNA’s Second Legion, in the city of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain), northeastern Syria.

A source told North Press, “Clashes erupted today between the Military Police and groups affiliated with an SNA faction on the Qahwat Ahmad Khan Street in the city center of Sere Kaniye.”

The sources added that these clashes resulted in the killing of three members from the al-Karaan tribe, who are affiliated with the SNA’s Second Legion, at the hands of the Military Police, leading to a state of alert among tribe members.

The source also indicated that the clashes resulted in the destruction of three vehicles and 23 mm anti-aircraft guns belonging to the Military Police and the SNA’s Hamza Division.

The source noted that the clashes have temporarily ceased due to the intervention of Turkish forces between the two parties, adding that the cause of the clashes has not been clarified yet.
