SDF announces settlement for fighters involved in Deir ez-Zor clashes

DEIR EZ-Zor, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced the initiation of a settlement for fighters involved in the recent events in Deir ez-Zor.

In an official statement on SDF website, it urged all armed individuals who fled to the Syrian government-controlled areas and were involved in the recent events in Deir ez-Zor to communicate with them and initiate settlement procedures to return to the area.

Recently, the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor have witnessed tensions and clashes that erupted between SDF and fighters under a newly formed formation named of Tribes Forces.

The SDF accused the Syrian government of fueling the tension and inciting Tribes forces to clash with the SDF.

The statement further urged armed individuals in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor to surrender their weapons and commence the required legal procedures within a maximum timeframe of 15 days, starting from today, September 28.

At the end of the statement, SDF emphasized that they will continue to provide support to the affected population in Deir ez-Zor who have suffered as a result of the attacks by militants on service and administrative institutions.
