NDF militant dies from wounds sustained in eastern Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ_ZOR, Syria (North Press) – A member of the National Defense Forces (NDF), a pro-government militia, was killed on Wednesday, succumbing to gunshot wounds sustained two days ago in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria, to participate in an attack against the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
A military source in militia in Deir ez-Zor said that NDF member Hamoud Matashar al-Omar, 34, died from gunshot wounds he sustained two days ago. Al-Omar was shot after he had crossed to the east bank of the Euphrates River to the town of Diban where he targeted an SDF post.
The source also added that al-Omar hails from the town of Abu Hamam in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor. He was a member of NDF and close to Firas al-Jaham, the commander of the NDF, and one of his advisors.
On Tuesday, NDF buried the bodies of two of its members who were killed in an attack on the town of Deir ez-Zor in eastern Syria.
