Turkish forces shell village in northern Hasakah
TEL TAMR, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday evening, Turkish forces shelled with artillery a village near the town of Tel Tamr, in northern Hasakah, northeastern Syria.
A military source told North Press on condition of anonymity, “Turkish forces and their affiliated factions targeted with artillery shells the village of al-Dardara, in north of Tel Tamr.”
The source added that the shelling resulted in material damage, with no reports of any casualties yet.
On Monday, Turkish forces targeted the village of Tel Karah in the northwestern countryside of Tel Tamr with dozens of heavy artillery shells, resulting in significant material losses to the homes and properties of the village residents.
Tel Tamr, which has a population of about 25,000 and is 30 km away from the Syrian-Turkish border, is of strategic importance as it is a junction on the M4 Highway linking Hasakah to Aleppo Governorate in the northwest.
The town has been under constant attacks by the Turkish forces and their affiliated armed opposition factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA), for more than two years.
