Turkish intelligence arrests SNA militants in Syria’s Tel Abyad
TEL ABYAD, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, a unit from the Turkish intelligence, in coordination with the Turkey-backed Military Police of the Syrian National Army (SNA), raided a military post of an SNA faction in south of Tel Abyad, in northern Syria, and arrested a number of militants on charges of collaborating with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
A military source, speaking not for attribution, told North Press that the “Turkish intelligence, with the contribution of the SNA’s Military Police, raided a post of SNA’s Ahrar al-Sharqiya faction this afternoon in search of wanted individuals.”
The source further stated that the raid resulted in arresting one of the faction’s leaders named Abduljabbar al-Aloush, also known as Abu al-Joud al-Bakir, and four of his members on charges of transferring classified files to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
According to the source, the Turkish intelligence has transferred the detainees to the Military Investigation Center in the city of Tel Abyad. The search is still ongoing for other members of the same faction who managed to escape and are facing similar charges.
