Two killed, three injured in government shelling in Idlib
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Two civilians were killed and three others were injured on Saturday evening due to artillery shelling the Syrian government forces in the countryside of Idlib, northwestern Syria. Meanwhile, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, formerly known as al-Nusra Front) targeted a government tank in southern Idlib.
Sources from medical emergency teams in Idlib informed North Press that government forces targeted IDP tents near the city of Sarmin and the neighboring town of Afs, east of Idlib, with heavy artillery shells and rockets.
They added that the shelling resulted in the killing of two civilians and the injury of two others in Sarmin, as well as the injury of one person in Afs. They were then transported to hospitals in the city of Idlib.
At the same time, government forces targeted villages and towns such as al-Fatterah, Kafr Aweed, Sufuhn, Kansafra, and the outskirts of the town of al-Bara in Jabal al-Zawiya (Zawiya Mountain), south of Idlib, as well as the towns of Kafr Taal and Kafr Amma in western Aleppo, according to the same sources.
Meanwhile, military sources informed North Press that HTS targeted a government tank with a missile on the axis of the town of Hazarin, south of Idlib, resulting in its destruction and the death of four soldiers who were inside.
