Since Sept. 15, Hasakah has witnessed tension and continuous clashes between the government forces and the NDF who rebelled against the former, resulting in several deaths and injuries among civilians and soldiers of the government forces and the NDF.
On Friday, the government media outlets announced the killing of the NDF leader Abdulqader Hamo in Hasakah by detonating himself with an explosive belt in one of the basements of the house where he had taken refuge for more than two days.
Hours earlier, a government source in Hasakah told North Press that “the military operations inside the city of Hasakah have ended after full control was achieved over the house where Hamo had taken refuge and it was his last stronghold in the government-held area over the past two days.”
