SDF announces killing five SNA militants in Manbij

MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced killing five militants of the Turkish-backed armed factions, also known as the Syrian National Army (SNA), by a military operation in the countryside of the city of Manbij, northern Syria, in retaliation to the recent drone attack that killed three fighters of the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ).

SDF stated that its forces “carried out on Wednesday an attack against the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation in the countryside of Manbij in retaliation for Women Military Council of Manbij.”

On Sep. 15, the Manbij Military Council (MMC), affiliated with SDF, announced that “three YPJ fighters were killed in a Turkish drone attack on their vehicle.”

MMC pointed out that a military operation, in retaliation for YPJ fighters, was carried out against the SNA faction of Sultan Murad in the area between the villages of Tel Ali and Suheib in the countryside of Manbij.

MMC further added that the military operation resulted in the killing of five militants and the injury of seven others, in addition to destroying three checkpoints and two military vehicles.
