Rojava University signs agreement with sociology department in US university
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – An official in Rojava University, affiliated the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), in the city of Qamishli, northeastern Syria, said that they signed an agreement with the Sociology Department of the Binghamton University to benefit from their experience.
On September 17, Rojava University announced the signing of a joint agreement with the Sociology Department of the Binghamton University in the United States, making it the third American university and the eleventh international university with which they have established such agreements.
Shinda Daoud, the co-chair of Rojava University, informed North Press that the objective of establishing these relations is to elevate the educational standards of the university.
According to Rojava university, the agreement with the Sociology Department encompasses collaborative research projects, the exchange of expertise, and the organization of joint seminars, workshops, and conferences.
“We will continue to build and strengthen relations, aiming to benefit from these universities in scientific research and their established research methodologies. Being relatively new, with only eight years of existence, our university needs to learn from the administrative and academic systems of these prestigious and long-standing universities in order to advance to the forefront,” she stated.
Moreover, she emphasized that it is possible for universities in northeastern Syria to be internationally recognized in the near future.
Daoud reiterated that these relationships will have a positive impact not only on Rojava University but also on all universities in the areas held by the AANES.
She emphasized that establishing connections between students and these universities will provide valuable opportunities for mutual benefits and knowledge exchange.
