Turkish forces shell villages in Syria’s Tel Abyad
TEL ABYAD, Syria (North Press) – Turkish forces shelled on Monday villages in the western countryside of the city of Tel Abyad, in northern Raqqa Governorate, northern Syria.
Muhammad Darwish, a resident of the village of Sarzur, in the western countryside of Tel Abyad, stated that Turkish forces shelled the villages of Qara Khana, Bandar Khan, Koberlik, al-Hurriya, Qazaali, Zarah, Bir Arab, and al-Ahmadiya.
Darwish added that the Turkish forces used heavy weapons in their shelling, which originated from their military base adjacent to the village of Denaye.
“The shelling resulted in material damage to the houses and properties of residents. No casualties have been reported so far,” he added.
Darwish also said that the residents of Qara Khana and Bander Khan villages were forced to flee and seek shelter in villages distant from the frontlines.
