Unknown gunmen kill former SDF fighter in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Unidentified gunmen killed on Sunday a former fighter of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in his house in the village of al-Kishkiyah in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor Governorate, eastern Syria.

Hamdan al-Baher, one of the victim’s relatives, said the unknown gunmen were riding a motorcycle. They raided the house of Ali Fatyakh al-Noman, 26, and directly shot him in his house.

He told North Press the young man died immediately, whereas the attackers fled.

Although the SDF launches intensive security operations, the countryside of Deir ez-Zor has recently witnessed an increase in killing incidents carried out against SDF fighters, employees of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), tribal figures and civil residents.

The SDF keeps pursuing Islamic State (ISIS) sleeper cells in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor with the aim to maintain security and stability of the region.
