Clashes result in casualties in Syria’s Daraa
DARAA, Syria (North Press) – Two people were killed and others injured on Wednesday as a result of clashes between two families in the town of Busra al-Sham in the eastern countryside of Daraa Governorate, southern Syria.
A local source informed North Press that “two individuals from al-Maqdad family were killed, and three members of al-Issa family were injured in a brawl where light weapons were used.”
The source added that three individuals from the al-Issa family were transferred to the National Hospital in the town, where they are currently receiving treatment.
The sources explained that the two families from Busra al-Sham had an old dispute that led to the problem.
The sources also pointed out that the clashes have brought the area to a standstill, causing the majority of shops to close as people fear the risk of stray bullets.
It is worth mentioning that the rate of killings in Daraa is increasing amid the deteriorating security situation in the city and its countryside, as there is a lack of security control by Syrian government forces since their takeover of the city and its countryside in 2018.
