Israeli airstrikes target Syria’s Tartus causing casualties

TARTUS, Syria (North Press) – Israeli aircraft targeted on Wednesday posts of Air Defense of the Syrian government  forces in the vicinity of Tartus Governorate, on the Syrian coast.

The state-run SANA News Agency said, citing a military source, that the Israeli forces launched an attack on Syrian Air Defense posts in Tartus, using rocket volleys from the Mediterranean Sea.

The source added that the targeting resulted in the killing of two military personnel and the injury of six others.

Israel has carried out hundreds of airstrikes inside Syria over the past few years, targeting what it says to be Iranian-backed militia’s strongholds to disrupt Iran’s increasing use of aerial supply lines to deliver arms to allies in Syria and Lebanon, including Hezbollah.
