Turkey deports 65 Syrians to north Syria, border guards shoot 2 in Idlib
RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – Turkish border guards shot two individuals on Sunday while attempting to cross the Syrian-Turkish border in Idlib Governorate, northwestern Syria. Meanwhile Turkey deported on Saturday 65 people to the northern countryside of Raqqa, northern Syria.
An exclusive source told North Press that the Turkish border guards, stationed in the control tower across the village of Kherbet al-Joz in the north of Idlib, shot at several individuals while crossing the border wall.
The shooting led to the injury of two men who are now detained by the Turkish border guards along with seven others, including a woman in her fifties, while trying to cross the border.
In a related context, Turkish authorities deported on Saturday 65 people to northern Syria through Tel Abyad border crossing with Turkey in the northern countryside of Raqqa, which is under the control of Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA).
An exclusive source told North Press that the Turkish authorities forcibly deported 65 Syrian refugees, including 15 women, from Turkey to the countryside of Raqqa.
The source noted that deportations increased in the past few days and most of them are carried out through the border crossings of Tel Abyad in the countryside of Raqqa and Sere Kaniye in the northern countryside of Hasakah, both have been under the occupation of Turkish forces and SNA factions since October 2019.
