SNA arrests 4 people including underage girl in Syria’s Hasakah
SERE KANIYE, Syria (North Press) – Militants of the Sultan Murad faction, affiliated with the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA), arrested on Sunday four individuals, including one girl, in a raid in the city of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) in the north of Hasakah, northeastern Syria.
An exclusive source told North Press that militants of the Sultan Murad faction raided a house in the village of Tel Arqam in the western countryside of Sere Kaniye and arrested four people, including a 16 year-old girl. They came nine days ago from areas held by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) in northern Raqqa to go to Turkey and cross from there to Europe to seek asylum.
The individuals were detained under charges of espionage for the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and were taken to the faction’s prisons.
The detainees were supposed to cross to Turkish territories on Monday via a smuggler.
The Turkish forces and the SNA occupied Sere Kaniye and Tel Abyad after the so-called “Peace Spring” military operation in October 2019.
On Aug. 15, North Press held a dialogue session that discussed the state of human rights and violations in the Turkish-occupied city of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain), northeast Syria. The dialogue session presented a comprehensive report on those violations titled “Atrocities committed by the SNA in Turkish-occupied areas in north Syria”.
