860,000 students start new school year in AANES areas
RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) started on Sunday the new school year in its areas with more than 860,000 students attending.
On Aug. 28, the Education Board of the AANES announced that the school year of 2023-2024 would start on Sep. 3 for the teachers and that student can attend a week later.
Samira Haj Ali, co-chair of the Education Board, said the number of schools ready to receive students reached 4,130 across AANES areas.
She stated to North Press that the number of students reached more than 863,000 and the number of teachers reached 43,099.
Haj Ali noted that they coordinate with a number of organizations to do training workshops for teachers of the elementary stage to teach them new methods for children to interact with and focus on understanding and monitor the physical movement s of the children.
The annual meeting of the Education Board of the AANES, held on Aug. 28, issued a resolution to cancel Saturday as a day off for the teachers to designate it for training them.
Haj Ali pointed out that they performed many training workshops about teaching methods within academies affiliated with the Education Board to overcome shortcomings and develop and elevate the teachers’ competence.
