SNA mobilizing near frontlines in Syria’s Tel Rifaat
ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – Security sources told North Press on Thursday that al-Jabha al-Shamiya (Levant Front) and Third Corps, affiliated with the Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA), are mobilizing near frontlines in the town of Tel Rifaat in Aleppo.
The sources told North Press that “the SNA intends to lead a military escalation against the Syrian government forces on the vicinity of Tel Rifaat.
Two days ago, local councils affiliated with the SNA, at the request of Turkey, set up the “War Tent” to demand the “opening of the Tel Rifaat front and the acceleration of military operations there.”
Turkish forces and the SNA factions continue to shell the surroundings of Tel Rifaat and the village of Sheikh Issa in the northern countryside of Aleppo with heavy artillery.
The frontlines with the SNA have witnessed a military escalation in the northern region of Manbij, Tal Tamr in Hasakah in northeast Syria, Ain Issa in Raqqa in northern Syria, and the northern countryside of Aleppo.
This military escalation coincided with clashes between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and armed groups affiliated with the Syrian government and Iranian-affiliated factions in Deir ez-Zor Governorate, eastern Syria.
The Manbij Military Council (MMC) stated that it had observed the presence of “mercenaries” from Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS – formerly al-Nusra Front) in villages in the northern countryside of Manbij.
