Turkish authorities deport 45 Syrian refugees to SNA areas in NE Syria
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – Turkish authorities deported on Wednesday 45 Syrian refugees through Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) border crossing to areas held by Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA), in the countryside of Hasakah, northeastern Syria.
An exclusive source told North Press that the Turkish authorities forcibly deported 45 Syrians, including 11 women, from Turkey through Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) border crossing.
The source noted that the deportation operations increased again in the past few days following a relative decline in late August.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Turkish authorities deported more than 520 Syrian refugees, including 72 women and their children, to SNA-held areas through Tel Abyad and Bab al-Hawa border crossings.
Since the beginning of July, Turkey has launched a deportation campaign against the Syrian refugees residing in its territory, especially in Istanbul.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan previously told reporters that the number of the Syrian refugees who have “voluntarily returned” has exceeded one million and will increase in the future.
