Woman killed, 4 civilians injured in Turkish shelling on Syria’s Manbij
MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – A woman was killed and four other civilians were wounded on Saturday night due to an attack launched by the Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, known as the Syrian National Army (SNA), on Manbij countryside, northern Syria.
On Saturday night, the Turkish forces and the SNA factions shelled populated villages on the contact lines with the Manbij Military Council (MMC) in Manbij countryside.
A local source from the village of Arab Hassan, north of Manbij, said the woman, Fatima al-Kheleif, was killed and four other civilians were wounded due to the attack carried out by the Turkish-backed SNA factions on the villages of Arab Hassan, al-Muhsinli, and al-Mahamid.
Since Sept. 1, the Turkish forces and their SNA factions have launched offensives on the northern countryside of Manbij using artillery and mortar shelling.
On Saturday, the Manbij Military Council (MMC), affiliated with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), repelled an attack launched by the SNA on villages in the northern countryside of Manbij.
On Friday, the SNA launched an attack against the northern and western countryside of Manbij, killing five children.
