Turkish authorities deport 450 Syrian refugees to Syria

IDLIB/TEL ABYAD, Syria (North Press) – Turkish authorities deported on Saturday more than 450 Syrian refugees to areas held by the Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA) via Tel Abyad and Bab al-Hawa border crossings.

A private source told North Press that Turkish authorities handed over more than 200 Syrian refugees, including 51 women and their children, to the Military Police faction, affiliated with the SNA, via Tel Abyad border crossing, northern Raqqa Governorate, north Syria.

The source added that the Turkish authorities also deported 250 Syrian refugees, including 73 women and children, to areas held by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS – formerly al-Nusra Front) in Idlib Governorate, northwest Syria.

The deportation process occurred after obtaining all their identification documents, and fingerprints to prevent them from returning permanently to Turkish territory.

The number of deportees from Turkey via Tel Abyad, Bab al-Hawa and Bab al-Salama crossings for September exceeded 860 Syrian refugees, exclusive sources told North Press.
