SDF’s Hajin Military Council imposes curfew in eastern Deir ez-Zor

RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – The Hajin Military Council, a military formation affiliated to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), announced on Wednesday imposing a total curfew in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.

Deir ez-Zor witnessed clashes between armed militants and the SDF in tandem with its “Operation Security Reinforcement” to pursue criminals, Islamic State (ISIS) sleeper cells and individuals involved in drug trafficking.

The Hajin Military Council said the decision of the curfew was issued due to occurrence of riots and vandalism and it aims to make the security operation of the SDF successful by pursuing “vandals” who target the locals.

The curfew was put in effect starting from Wednesday at noon in areas stretching from the town of Hawaij Diban to the town of Baghuz in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

Earlier on Wednesday, the SDF dismissed the commander of Deir ez-Zor Military Council from duty after committing crimes and violations, and misusing authority.
