DAMSCUS, Syria (North Press) – The Ministry of Transport of Syria announced on Tuesday that Aleppo International Airport will resume service starting from midnight after repairing the damages caused by Israeli airstrikes.
The state-run SANA news agency said a day earlier, quoting a military source, “The Israeli enemy carried out an aerial aggression targeting Aleppo International Airport, putting it out of service.”
An official at Aleppo International Airport told North Press earlier on Tuesday that the airport’s suspension is expected to continue for up to 72 hours.
The airstrike came a week after Israeli forces launched airstrikes on the vicinity of Damascus, leading to the injury of a Syrian soldier and material damages.
Aleppo International Airport has faced recurrent Israeli airstrikes, leading to its temporary closure due to the significant damage inflicted on its runways.
