Protestors close Ba’ath Party headquarters in Syria’s Suwayda
SUWAYDA, Syria (North Press) – Protestors closed on Sunday the headquarters of the ruling Ba’ath Party in Suwayda Governorate, southern Syria.
The “Protests Organizing Committee” in Suwayda issued a statement calling for the closure of the Ba’ath Party headquarters in the governorate.
An exclusive source told North Press, “On Sunday morning, a group of peaceful protestors closed the headquarters of the party in Suwayda.”
“The closure of the headquarters is irrevocable. He stressed that all offices of the Ba’ath Party in the governorate were closed based upon the statement issued by the Protests Organizing Committee,” he added.
The statement reiterated “the continuation of the protests and their demands, most notably the necessity of changing the regime and implementing the UNSC Res. 2254.”
Since Aug. 17, anti-government protests sparked in Daraa and Suwayda as a result of dire economic and living conditions and later changed to political demands.
