Mazloum Abdi supports protests in Syria’s Suwayda

RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Mazloum Abdi, praised on Saturday the slogans raised by protesters in Suwayda Governorate, southern Syria, during their demonstrations against the Syrian “regime”.

For about a week, protests have been demanding the downfall of the Syrian Government in Suwayda and Daraa, southern Syria. The protests have been sparked by a series of government decisions that have exacerbated the deteriorating living conditions, with the government failing to find solutions.

The scope of the demands has expanded to include political demands, calling for the implementation of Resolution 2254 and the decentralization of power.

Abdi stated on “X” that “the national slogans raised in Suwayda are an expression of the vitality of the Syrian people who seek to reclaim the Syrian national identity, end the occupation, and suffering.”

He added that the slogans raised by the protesters emphasize the necessity of reaching a political solution to end the ongoing crisis.

On Friday, several Syrian cities witnessed supportive protest demonstrations for the Syrian movement in the south.

Protesters carried banners that appeared in circulating videos, calling for decentralization as a legal right.
