Hundreds protest against government in Syria’s Suwayda
SUWAYDA, Syria (North Press) – Hundreds of protesters gathered on Wednesday in Syria’s southern city of Suwayda in anti-government protests that have sparked for a week.
Al-Karama Square witnessed one of the unsurpassed protests after the influx of the people of the countryside to the city to participate the protests, one of the protesters told North Press.
The protesters demanded “the overthrow of the regime, the implementation of the UNSC Resolution 2254 for a just and citizenship state, and the release of the prisoners,” the protester said.
The strike that was started on August 19, has continued, as the government institutions, highways, and shops are all still closed.
The city of Suwayda, along with its neighbor, Daraa, have witnessed a civil disobedience and anti-government protests for about a week to demand freedom and dignity.
