Night anti-government protest erupts in Syria’s Daraa

DARAA, Syria (North Press) – Young men in a town of Daraa Governorate in southern Syria protested on Tuesday night calling for “the overthrow of the Syrian regime”.

A local source told North Press that dozens of young men of the town of Sayda, east of Daraa, took to the streets in an anti-government protest.

In the past few days, anti-government protests started in Daraa Governorate demanding the improvement of the economic conditions. Later, they expanded as the protesters have demanded “the overthrow of the regime”, the implementation of the UNSC Resolution 2254 and the establishment of a decentralized system, and the retreat from the unjust decisions like the increase of the prices of fuel. 

The protests raised the flag of what is called “the Syrian revolution” the flag of Syria before the era of Hafez al-Assad, the source said.

They chanted slogans against the Syrian government calling for “the overthrow of the [Syrian] regime” and demanding freedom and dignity, the source added.
