Protestors in Syria’s Suwayda call for “regime change”

SUWAYDA, Syria (North Press) – Protesters at Karama Square in the city of Suwayda, southern Syria, demanded on Tuesday overthrowing the “Syrian regime”.

Suwayda is witnessing protests, with the most significant one taking place in the city at Karama Square.

Munif Rashid, an activist in Suwayda, told North Press that they will “keep protesting “until the living conditions improve and the regime is overthrown.”

Rashid emphasized the importance of “adhering to the principles of the Syrian revolution.”

He added that “the revolution is a revolution of dignity and not a revolution of hunger, as some might say,” noting that they have been participants in the revolution since its inception and until now.

Abu Kan’an, a protesters in Karama Square, stressed the demand for the departure of “the oppressive regime.”

He said that the Syrian “regime” is the “reason behind hunger, suffering, and displacement of the Syrian people,” and called on all international organizations to support the Syrian people.
