US-led Global Coalition supports hospital in Syria’s Shadadi

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Civil Affairs team, affiliated with the US-led Global Coalition to defeat Islamic State (ISIS), provided on Saturday medical equipment to al-Shaab Hospital in the town of Shadadi, south of Hasakah Governorate, northeastern Syria.

The provided devices include radiology, sterilization, endoscopy, incubators, kidney dialysis, and operating room equipment, according to officials in Health Board of Jazira Region, affiliated with the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES).

Yasser al-Ali, an official at al-Shaab Hospital in Shadadi, told North Press that these devices will contribute to improving the health situation in the southern countryside of Hasakah since the hospital provides services to more than 350,000 people.

The hospital, which opened about a year ago, lacked many medical equipment and devices, forcing local residents to travel to Hasakah and other areas for treatment under difficult financial conditions for many, according to Ali.

“If the operating room and other departments are activated, this will make a significant effort and alleviate the suffering of people,” he added.

The Health Board opened the hospital in Shadadi in 2022 to improve the service situation in the town, as its infrastructure was heavily damaged during the war against ISIS years ago.
