Turkish authorities hand over 14 Syrians to HTS

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Turkish authorities handed over on Saturday 14 Syrians to the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, formerly al-Nusra Front) at Bab al-Hawa border crossing in Idlib Governorate, northwest Syria.

The Turkish authorities arrested the Syrians seven days ago while trying to cross to Turkey from the village of Kherbet al-Joz, northwest of Idlib.

The 14 detainees were handed over to the security forces of the border crossing. They took their iris scans and finger prints to prevent them from entering Turkey, an exclusive source told North Press.

The source said the detainees included four security and military wanted militants of the HTS, where they were arrested by the Turkish authorities while trying to flee to Turkish territory.

A source from the crossing told North Press that the number of those who were handed over by the Turkish authorities to Bab al-Hawa crossing in August reached 119 people.
