ISIS claims killing SDF fighter in eastern Deir ez-Zor

TEL TAMR, Syria (North Press) – The Islamic State (ISIS) claimed responsibility on Monday for targeting a fighter of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in a town in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

On Sunday, an SDF fighter lost his life to unknown armed gunmen in the town of al-Shuhayl, east of Deir ez-Zor city, eastern Syria.

ISIS-linked Amaq News Agency published a statement in which it said that the extremist group’s militants targeted an SDF fighter with machine guns on the main road in al-Shuhayl, resulting in his immediate death.

ISIS maintains a significant presence in the Deir ez-Zor desert, using it as a base to launch attacks against SDF fighters, Syrian government soldiers, and civilians.
