Unknown gunmen kill SDF fighter in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Unidentified gunmen killed on Sunday a fighter of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the town of Shuhail in the east of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.

A military source within the SDF said that unknown assailants riding a motorcycle shot Hamoud al-Ka’an, 35, an SDF fighter, on the main road in Shuhail.

The source told North Press that al-Ka’an was injured in the attack and later passed away in a field hospital in the town.

The countryside of Deir ez-Zor witnesses increasing assassinations against SDF fighters, employees of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), tribe leaders, and civilian population despite intensive security operations by the SDF and the US-led Global Coalition.

On Sunday, an SDF checkpoint in the village of Namliya in the northern countryside of Deir ez-Zor was attacked with machineguns without reporting any casualties.
