ISIS reveals weekly toll of attacks in Syria, Iraq, Africa, Asia
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Islamic State (ISIS) revealed on Friday the toll of the attacks it claims to have conducted in the past week in Syria, Iraq, Asia, and several regions in Africa.
Al-Naba, an online newspaper linked to the globally designated terrorist group, reported that ISIS militants conducted two attacks in Raqqa, northern Syria, in the past week, “killing four and injuring several others.”
The newspaper said the group’s militants carried out one attack against the Iraqi army in southern Iraq, “killing three and destroying a vehicle.”
In western Africa, the group “killed and wounded 25 people.” In East Asia, one ISIS attack left behind “one dead.”
In Mali, a country in west Africa, the group claimed responsibility for two attacks that left behind 47 casualties.
In central Africa, one ISIS attack killed and wounded four people.
During the first half of 2023, ISIS used its widespread sleeper cells in Syria to launch attacks, most notably against truffle hunters, in addition to planting IEDs and explosives on roads and many direct targeting with guns. The group left behind 552 casualties, including 363 killed and 189 others wounded.
