Turkish forces injure 2 people in Syria’s Hasakah
TEL TAMR, Syria (North Press) – Two people were injured on Wednesday in Turkish artillery and mortar shells that targeted villages in the towns of Tel Tamer and Zirgan (Abu Rasin), north of Hasakah Governorate, northeast Syria.
A military source told North Press that the Turkish forces targeted the village of Umm al-Keif, west of Tel Tamr, with six mortar shells.
A medical source from Lekrin Hospital in Tel Tamr said that the shelling of the village resulted in the injury of two people.
The Turkish forces shelled on Wednesday at dawn villages in the countryside of Tel Tamr and Zirgan.
Tel Tamr, which has a population of about 25,000 and is 30 km away from the Syrian-Turkish border, is of strategic importance as it is a junction on the M4 Highway linking Hasakah in northeast Syria to Aleppo governorate in northwest.
The town has been under constant attack by the Turkish forces and their backed armed opposition factions, aka Syrian National Army (SNA) for more than two years.
