Two wounded by Turkish border guards in Hasakah’s Sere Kaniye

SERE KANIYE, Syria (North Press) – Two civilians, including an Iraqi woman, were injured on Monday by Turkish border guards while attempting to cross into Turkey from the Tel Halaf village west of Sere Kaniye city (Ras al-Ain), in northern Hasakah, northeastern Syria.

A source told North Press that an Iraqi woman named Aqeela al-Rawi, 42, was shot by Turkish border guards alongside a young man named Mutaz al-Daafis while attempting to cross the Turkish border with a group of others who managed to escape.

The source added that a Turkish-backed faction transported the injured individuals to a hospital in Sere Kaniye, where they were placed under surveillance for further investigation after receiving treatment.

Turkish border guards have tightened the screws on the border, shooting Syrians and detaining them while attempting to cross the border towards Turkey.
