Government hands over documents man died in prison to his parents
DARAA, Syria (North Press) – The Civil Affairs Directorate in Daraa handed over on Monday a set of documents to the parents of a detainee confirming his death after spending years being behind the bars of Sednaya Prison.
Source reported to North Press that the family of the detainee Faraj Fouad al-Jamous received documents from the directorate stating that their son “has been removed from the records and is now deceased.”
The source added that the family is from Dael city, in the central countryside of Daraa, and that they coincidently received the documents while processing some documents for the family.
He, al-Jamous, was heading to Damascus five years ago when he was detained, and that his parents managed to visit him only once in all the period of his detention, the source added.
