Four wounded in government shelling against Idlib
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Four people were injured on Monday, including two children, in shelling by Syrian government forces against Turkish-backed factions and Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) in the eastern countryside of Idlib, northwest Syria.
A source told North Press that the Syrian government forces targeted by artillery shells the armed opposition factions and HTS on the outskirt of Nayrab town and the village of Maara, in east of Idlib.
“The shelling – which caused four injuries, including two children – is still ongoing against the outskirt of Kafr Nouran town in western Aleppo, and the vicinity of al-Bara and al-Majdaliya towns, in southern Idlib,” the source added.
The source stated that both children were seriously injured, adding they were transferred to Idlib hospitals. Meanwhile, HTS militants shelled back, using artillery and rockets, the town of Kafr Nabl, south of Idlib, and the vicinity of Base 46 and Urem town in western Aleppo.
Northwestern Syria is witnessing an escalation of skirmishes between the Syrian government forces, HTS, and Syrian opposition factions. These clashes have led to casualties among civilians in the countryside of Aleppo, Idlib, and the western countryside of Hama.
