HTS forces school students to wear Islamic attire in Syria’s Idlib

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, Salvation Government, the civil wing of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS – formerly al-Nusra Front), imposed Islamic attire and sex segregation on school students in the city of Idlib, northwest Syria.

Education ministry, affiliated with the HTS, said, in a statement, all educational institutions in Idlib must abide by the new rules.

The ministry also ordered removing all haram drawings [forbidden by Islam] on schools walls.

All female teachers and employees must stick to the Islamic dress, the statement read.
