HTS receives 10 individuals from Turkish authorities
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – After detaining them for three days, Turkish authorities handed over on Sunday 10 individuals to Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), including three HTS members, in Bab al-Hawa border crossing, northern Idlib.
A source reported to North Press that seven people, including two women and three HTS members, were handed over to HTS. The civilians were transferred to Atmeh camp after taking their personal data, while the members were taken to an investigation center in Samada town, northern Idlib.
Meanwhile, the HTS’ General Security Services (GSS) arrested one of HTS security officials on charges of espionage for the US-led Coalition.
A source stated to North Press that GSS stormed the house of Abu Qutaiba al-Halabi, an official responsible of the surveillance camera system in the towns of Sarmada and Dana. He was then transferred to an security center to be interrogated.
HTS has arrested more than 390 of its own members and security officials in a campaign unleashed on June 18, accusing them of working for ‘external parties’, most specifically the US-led Coalition.
