ISIS attack injures five SDF fighters in southern Hasakah

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – Five members of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) were injured on Wednesday, in an armed attack that was later claimed by the Islamic State (ISIS), in a town in south of Hasakah city, northeastern Syria.

A military source from the SDF in the town of al-Suwar, north of Deir ez-Zor, told North Press that “unknown gunmen riding a motorcycle targeted an SDF military vehicle from al-Suwar on the public road in the town of al-Saada, south of Hasakah, while it was heading to the town of Shadadi.”

The attack resulted in the injury of five SDF members who were taken to a field hospital in the area and they are now in good health, the source said citing a doctor at the hospital.

About two hours after the attack, ISIS claimed responsibility for the operation through affiliated outlets.
