Four Syrians suffocated in smuggling truck en route to Europe
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Four people from Qamishli, northeast Syria, tragically suffocated in a secret compartment inside a smuggler’s truck in its way to Europe.
A relative of one of the victims informed North Press that the all four were from Qamishli, two from Jil Agha (al-Jawadiyah) and the others from Girke Lege (Maabadah).
“The incident took place on the road linking between Turkey and Greece and the people are 25-year-old Muhammad al-Omar, Agid Abbas, Wa’el Rassoul, and Fahed al-Taher,” the source added.
Relatives of victims attributed the cause of death to suffocation, saying that all four were concealed inside a secret compartment within the truck. This resulted in the immediate suffocation and death of two of them, while the other two were initially treated but also passed away in a Turkish hospital.
