Officer in HTS wounded in western Idlib
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – An officer of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) was shot by unidentified gunmen in Jisr al-Shughur, in western Idlib, this afternoon, 24 hours after the assassination of an HTS security official by unknown attackers operating under the name of Saraya Dir’ al-Thawra.
A source confirmed to North Press that the gunmen targeted Abu Jabir al-Deiri, the officer in charge of HTS patrols in Jisr al-Shughour, while he was in his military vehicle, which resulted in his injury with varying degrees of severity.
After taking the injured to Jisr al-Shughur hospital, the HTS’ General Security Apparatus cordoned off the site and began inspecting identities and vehicles.
On Friday, a top HTS security official named Ibrahim Mahmoud al-Ali, known as Abu Sahib Sarmin, was killed by unknown gunmen carrying the banner of Saraya Dir’ al-Thawra.
